This switch does not require a neutral wire at either the master or add-on locations. A Zigbee 3.0 Hub is necessary, and you may already have one, such as SmartThings, Echo, Hubitat, and so on. The 1.08-inch shallow housing design allows the switch to fit into congested wiring outlet boxes. Without the neutral wire, the switch needs a complete circuit to provide a constant power supply for itself, and a lamp is recommended as the load. However, the load cannot be a socket, as the switch cannot get power if there is no real load on the socket.
