If you have a smart light or smart plug connected to the Alexa service, you can create a routine in the Alexa app that will automatically turn the light or plug on when motion is detected and off when no motion is detected for a specified period of time.

The motion sensor is easy to set up, and it can be installed in just a few seconds. To connect it to your compatible Echo device, simply make sure the device is in pairing mode and say "Alexa, discover devices," and it will be automatically discovered.

The motion sensor has a great range, capable of detecting motion up to 30 feet (9 meters) away, and it has a long battery life of up to 2 years on 2 AAA batteries under typical usage.
